The reveal of the Vision Neue Klasse concept is scheduled during BMW’s latest quarterly results presentation. Unlike its futuristic counterpart, the i Vision Dee concept, this new concept car will be much closer to what we can expect from production-ready models. It provides an exciting glimpse into BMW’s ambitious plans for its upcoming EV lineup.

Production of these forthcoming EVs based on the Neue Klasse platform is set to commence at a state-of-the-art facility in Hungary by 2025. Following that, manufacturing operations are planned for Germany and China in 2026 and Mexico in 2027 at BMW’s San Luis Potosí plant. The first vehicle to debut on this innovative platform will be comparable in size to a 3 Series sedan and aims to compete directly with Tesla’s popular Model 3.

The upcoming EV range will include a sedan and a crossover based on the 3 Series. The sedan is set to be available worldwide and will be similar to the i3 model, while the crossover will be the next generation of the iX3. These electric vehicles will have cylindrical batteries, allowing for a higher energy density and reduced weight.

The future Neue Klasse models promise to showcase BMW’s Gen 6 battery technology, offering a 30% improvement in range, a 50% reduction in production costs, and a whopping 60% decrease in carbon emissions. These vehicles are sure to impress, offering battery capacities between 75 kWh and 150 kWh and motor outputs ranging from 268 hp to an incredible 1,341 hp.

The world is eagerly awaiting the first production of the Neue Klasse from BMW as they drive full speed into the future. This isn’t just about new cars – it’s about a new era and redefining what it means to be “The Ultimate Driving Machine” in the EV world.

Interestingly, history repeats itself as we look back at the original BMW Neue Klasse models launched in the 1960s. These iconic vehicles are credited with saving BMW from financial disaster during a critical time for the company. Throughout its existence, the Neue Klasse has had a remarkable ability to shake things up and shape BMW’s destiny.

Now, several decades later, this legendary nameplate returns to revolutionize mobility once again. With cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking design principles, the upcoming Neue Klasse EVs aim to set new standards in performance and sustainability.

BMW is aiming high and has set a goal of manufacturing two million all-electric cars by the year 2025, with the intention of having half of its global sales be EVs by 2030. Additionally, the company is working towards achieving full carbon neutrality across its supply chain by 2050.
