The electric sports boat proudly harnesses and further enhances Porsche’s drive technology, originally curated for road transport, making it suitable for aquatic conditions. The powertrain incorporates a state-of-the-art permanently excited synchronous electric motor (PSM) with a potential power peak of 400 kW, a shaft designed to convey power to the marine Z-drive, and a lithium-ion battery boasting a gross capacity of 100 kWh. This technological mastery facilitates exceptional manoeuvring capabilities, speeds peaking at 85 km/h (46 kn), and an impressive range exceeding 100 kilometers at hull speed.
The Frauscher x Porsche eFantom comes equipped with distinctive driving modes like Docking, Range, Sport, and Sport Plus, that not only modify the throttle response but also establish varying speed thresholds to suit a range of driving situations. The revolutionary boat facilitates a range of applications, from dockside cruising to speedy travels, giving clients a personalized and thrilling encounter.
Porsche’s 800-volt technology enables the electric boat to be powered at over 250 kW of DC at rapid-charging stations, reaching an impressive 10% to 80% charging level in less than 30 minutes under ideal circumstances. With an 11-kW AC charger embedded, the boat makes it feasible for traditional household and high-voltage socket charging, offering convenience to users in varied locations and scenarios.
Studio FA Porsche worked on crafting the dashboard as well, curating a high-gloss black instrument panel enclosed by a borderless tinted acrylic glass windshield. The quintuple dial arrangement on the top of the dashboard subtly references the iconic Porsche dashboard structure, equipped with a start button on the left side of the steering wheel, akin to standard road-bound Porsches. The studio had a hand in designing the dual front seats as well, in direct emulation of sports car design aesthetics. The dual front seats are crafted specifically for E-Performance, delivering exceptional lateral support and comfort. The exterior design stays loyal to the vehicle, accommodating up to nine passengers and integrating a swimming platform plus a sunbathing lounge area.
Porsche’s unique flair for individuality shines through in the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, which allows customers to customize the upholstery, hull, and deck hues. The boat has bimini tops, a superior audio system, and various luxury amenities for a customized, extravagant electric boating experience.
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air will make its global debut in January 2024 at the “boot” trade exhibition in Düsseldorf. The initial plan is to manufacture a special first-edition series of just 25 exclusive units, available for pre-order from €561,700 net. Delivery of these limited-issue boats will commence in 2024, indicating a pivotal moment in the electric boating world.
